EYEWEAR FAQ’s & POLICIES

WHAT CAN WE HELP YOU DO NEXT?

Eyewear warranties

All frames are warranted to be free of defects for one year. Frames broken due to neglect, accident, or misuse are not covered. Lenses with scratch resistant coatings are warranted to be free of defects for one year. Scratch resistant coatings do not make your glasses scratch proof. Proper care should be taken when cleaning your eyeglass lenses. Lenses scratched, broken or chipped due to neglect or misuse are not covered. Antireflective coating is warranted to be free of defects for one year.  All prescriptions are guaranteed for 60 days from the original purchase against any doctor’s prescription change or non-adapt to a particular lens style or materials. Should a prescription change within the 60 day period, the lens will be remade at no cost to the wearer. All progressive lens orders are covered for 60 days against non-adapt purposes and will be remade as a single vision, bifocal or another progressive lens design at no cost. Due to the unknown age and condition of a patient’s own frame, if a frame becomes damaged or broken during the lens processing, no refund will be issued for the frame. A 25% discount will be extended towards the purchase of a new frame.

Lens coatings

We care deeply about the health of your eyes and the quality of the glasses we provide. Therefore, every pair of glasses we dispense will be outfitted with a scratch-resistant coating and proper ultraviolet light protection. Antireflective coating is one of the most effective ways to obtain clearer, crisper vision in optics. By comparison, an uncoated non-AR lens transmits 92% of artificial light. The remaining 8% becomes diverted and will never reach the eye. The hydro-phobic Antireflective coatings used by Toomey Belanger Eye Care achieve a transmittance of 99% of light through an Antireflective coated lens. This results in less glare from headlights during night driving or reflections from computer screens, while still allowing others to clearly see your eyes through your lenses.

When should you expect your custom eyewear to arrive?

We do everything we can to get your eyeglasses to you in about a week. However, some eyeglasses may take longer due to prescription, frame shape, frame availability, lens design, and material of the lenses.

What should you expect from new prescription eyewear?

Any prescription change will feel different at first, and it may take time for your vision to adjust. At the date of delivery, we will dispense and make adjustments on your new eyewear as needed.

Can I apply insurance benefits toward a new eyewear order?

Some insurance plans have benefits for eyewear, and we will work with you toward ensuring you receive those discounts on new eyewear where applicable. Feel free to contact us with specific questions on insurance coverage and how your plan may apply toward your next order.

When can you stop by to look at frames or pick up orders?

Our optical center is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8am-4pm. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we are open from 9am-6pm. All orders and pick-ups should be made in the optical center 30 minutes prior to closing for the day.

What can I do to prolong the life of my new glasses?

  1. -always store your glasses in their case when not being worn.

  2. -remember that all lenses are easier to clean when they are wet. So always use an appropriate lens cleaner and cleaning cloth provided for best results.

  3. -do not use any paper product including facial tissue to clean your glasses. Paper products contain tiny wooden fibers that can scratch your lenses.

  4. -do not use Windex or any ammonia based products as a cleaning agent as it may remove protective coatings.

  5. -do not wear your glasses on top of your head as this can weaken or crack the frames.

Do you offer free cleaning and adjustments?

Yes. We will be happy to clean and adjust your glasses whenever needed to ensure you have the best possible fit and vision. Even glasses that fit well will need to be adjusted periodically. Stop in during business hours for this service.
